I am a PhD student in Media Studies at UCLA. My research focuses on how the co-constitution of vision and data are used to digitally control and govern bodies, particularly through biometric surveillance.
Drawing from Science and Technology Studies, Media Studies, and Critical Data Studies, I seek to understand how scientific culture (specifically from the study of genetics) shapes perceptions of the body as something to be optimized using computer vision.
